Quebec re-opens three immigration pilot programs for workers in different sectors
Jan 29, 2025
Quebec will reopen three permanent immigration pilot programs on January 13, 2025, to address labor shortages in key sectors.
Successful applicants will be eligible for Canadian permanent residence (PR).
Originally launched in 2021, these programs aim to attract skilled workers to the province. The three programs include:
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Food Processing Workers (PP TA)
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Beneficiary Attendants (PP PAB)
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Workers in Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Visual Effects (PP IA/TI-EV)
The government has introduced new guidelines for these programs:
- From January 13 to December 31, 2025, a maximum of 600 applications will be accepted for both the PP TA and PP PAB programs.
- The PP IA/TI-EV program will also accept 600 applications, equally divided between the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology & Visual Effects (TI-EV) components.
- Each component of the PP IA/TI-EV will allocate up to 150 applications under the Francisation profile.
These pilot programs will remain in effect until January 1, 2026.
