This week, Manitoba issued new invitations for foreign skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination, continuing its efforts to meet labour market needs.
The invitations were part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which targets candidates with professional experience in high-demand occupations across the province.
On April 3, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. This round focused exclusively on candidates invited through the strategic recruitment initiative.
Total Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued: 4
Minimum score required: 721
Express Entry profiles/job seeker validation codes: None of the invited candidates declared valid profiles or codes.
Strategic recruitment initiatives are programs run by the MPNP to connect international skilled workers with Manitoba employers facing critical labour shortages.
These initiatives are tailored for employers who:
Can show an urgent and ongoing need for qualified workers, and
Cannot fill these roles through the local job market.
To participate, employers must meet specific eligibility criteria and complete the ABC Recruitment Process, which closely resembles the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process.
