New Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots Open March 31, 2025
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced two new immigration programs for home care workers starting on March 31, 2025. These programs, called Canada’s Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, will replace the previous pathways to permanent residence (PR) for caregivers, which have now ended.
Under these new programs, eligible home care workers will be able to get permanent residence as soon as they arrive in Canada.
To qualify, you must:
✔ Have a language proficiency of CLB level 4 (basic English or French).
✔ Hold a Canadian high school diploma (or an equivalent foreign credential).
✔ Have recent and relevant work experience in home care.
✔ Have a full-time job offer as a home care worker.
Note: Since June 16, 2024, applicants to previous home care programs needed only 6 months of work experience to qualify for PR.
